2021 LINCOLN NAUTILUS VS. 2021 CADILLAC XT5

2021 LINCOLN NAUTILUS VS. 2021 CADILLAC XT5 IN FREDERICTON, NB

Lincoln has long led the industry charge in luxury SUVs, and they've carried on tradition with the new 2021 Nautilus. This stunning new model boasts an upscale design both inside and out, as well as a ride that's as refined as its looks. With the new Nautilus now a part of our new inventory, we at Riverview Lincoln thought it only natural to compare this 2021 Lincoln model to a popular rival in the latest Cadillac XT5. If you're based in Fredericton or Hampton, Oromocto, Moncton, Saint John, Woodstock, or Sussex, NB, find out how the new Nautilus stacks up against its Cadillac competitor before visiting our dealership for a closer look.

INTERIOR & EXTERIOR DESIGN

The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus' exterior design is all class, beginning with chiseled bodywork, a precisely sculpted hood, and lines and creases in all the right spots. LED lights and Lincoln's striking, elegant grille punctuate this SUV's front end, with available dual exhaust chrome tips capping its rear. The new Nautilus is as practical as it is easy on the eyes, as it offers a hands-free power liftgate that makes easy work of loading and unloading cargo when you're running errands and your hands are full. Rounding out this Lincoln model's exterior are 18-inch aluminum wheels and a Panoramic Vista Roof that helps make every ride a memorable experience. As for its Cadillac rival, the new XT5's silhouette and grille are lovely to look at, but this SUV's design lacks the elegance of the 2021 Nautilus.

The latest Nautilus' interior is just as fetching as its exterior. The new Lincoln Nautilus' length makes for ample space to accommodate a handful of passengers, while its dash and layout are clean, modern, and most of all, refined. Quality materials abound in this five-passenger SUV, with leather, wood, and metal trims available throughout the lineup. The Lincoln Nautilus' trunk space is just as generous and bests many rivals, including the XT5, while dual-zone automatic temperature control, power-adjustable leather front seats, ambient lighting, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel lead this SUV's available comforts. The 2021 Cadillac XT5, by comparison, offers a respectable lineup of quality materials, but its cabin design is disjointed, and while its storage space is class-competitive, it trails the Lincoln Nautilus' trunk space. PERFORMANCE: LINCOLN NAUTILUS VS. CADILLAC XT5

The latest Nautilus packs a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a solid 250 horsepower, which pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive available for optimal stability and traction, and if you crave some extra brawn, an optional twin-turbo V6 engine offers plenty of it in 335 horsepower. Thanks in part to its sport-tuned suspension, the 2021 Nautilus' ride is comfortable and refined, while driving enthusiasts will be glad to hear this five-passenger SUV also boasts responsive acceleration. As for the 2021 Cadillac XT5, this Nautilus rival's two engine options both pack less power than our Lincoln's. Furthermore, while the XT5's ride is fairly composed, its base four-cylinder motor is slightly lethargic, and it tends to lose its composure when braving rough patches of road.

LINCOLN NAUTILUS SAFETY & TECHNOLOGY

This year's Lincoln Nautilus is just as generous in technology as it is in quality materials and pep. While the Cadillac XT5 only offers the basics in both connectivity and safety functions, our Lincoln SUV has you covered in both departments. A sprawling infotainment touchscreen and a lauded SYNC 4 system come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with 4G Wi-Fi hotspot capability also included in the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus' standard suite. Those who value tech and infotainment can also enjoy a navigation system for stress-free travels and a wireless charging pad that helps keep clutter to a minimum.

As for its safety technology, the new Nautilus bests the Cadillac XT5 with a varied lineup including Pre-Collision Assist that pairs with Automatic Emergency Braking, as well as Blind Spot Detection with Cross-Traffic Alert that acts as an added set of eyes. A lane-keeping assist function also comes standard in the latest Lincoln Nautilus, while adaptive cruise control is available to those looking to take the edge off braving stop-and-go traffic.
